PSU's Electronic Classics Site: This is a free literature website maintained by Pennsulvania State University. Here you can find a lot of the classics in English literature in PDF forms which you can read online or download to your disk for free. All the literature works are listed by authors. Click the author you are interested,for example, Jane Austen then you'll be led to a page with a list of works written by Jane Austen like Emma, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility,etc. and additional sites of note. (click these novels and you will open them in PDF forms which you can save directly to your disk)

It also provides a page of literary resources where you can explore more about literature.

Betterreader.com: This is an interesting flash website for improving your reading skills. It looks neat and easy-navigated. Although it is a paid service, all of its resrouces and exercises are available for visitors only if you fill in an information table in just a few seconds. The only difference between a member and a visitor is that it cannot keep the record of your performance.

You will find three categories: Better,More and Faster.
Click and enter the first category: Better. You will find a story menu with a list of stories to choose from for your exercise. Choose one then click. Click read story and then concentrate on reading. After finish reading the story,choose an activity and do the exercises provided.

This test can measure your English proficiency. The design and concept of the test is very interesting but I also found it very time consuming. One of the advantages of this test is that it promotes listening and focus on the task at hand.

CRI: Learn English is a comprehensive English learning website hosted by CRI (China Radio International). It contains a lot of excellent programs like Bilingual News, Studio Classroom, Idiomatic Phrases, Daily English News, Tips of the Day, Horoscope, Daily English, Biligual Glossary, etc.

CRI英语学习 是CRI（中国国际广播电台）创办的综合性英语学习网站。网站内容丰富，包括了很多主题栏目，比如：双语新闻，空中英语教室，缤纷习语，每日新闻， 每日点滴，每日星座，生活小语，双语词汇等等。

All the programs are neatly organised with beautiful pictures and detailed illustrations. Most of the programs have audio files with explanations of key words. Some feature programs impress me a lot. For instance, in Recommneded Read, you can find some recommended novels or books with brief introductions to its synopsis and author; and in Idiomatic Phrases you can learn a lot of interesting and useful idioms and phrases. Explore more and you will have a lot fun and learn a lot.

Came across the website Lingual.net yesterday and got attracted by its variety of fantastic movie trailers and clips. Learning English through English could be of a lot of fun. If you are a fan of movies, you must be thrilled to see so many wonderful movies here, although in clips. All movies fall into several categories:Drama, Animation, Cine-poetry, Homemade, Documentary,etc. Most of the movie trailers or clips have synopsis and you can choose to have subtitles on or off while you're watching the movies.
